How Much Money Should You Take To The Maldives

If you are considering a trip to the Maldives, you might be thinking about how much money should be taken with you. The answer to this really depends on the type of holiday you are going to book as well as what you plan to do there once you have arrived. All-Inclusive Holidays

Today, by far the best way to budget for a holiday is to book all-inclusive. All-inclusive Maldives holidays mean you pay for your flights, transfers, accommodation, food and drink all up front, meaning that it is all taken care of before you leave home. This greatly reduces the amount of money that you need to take with you; it also means not stressing about how much things like eating out is going to cost while you are away.

Many of those who book room-only or self-catering holidays overspend while away as they have just not anticipated the cost of paying for food and drink. All-inclusive holidays are particularly good for families in this respect as they tend to include not only the above-mentioned food and drink but also entertainment for both adults and kids.

Trying to keep children occupied on holiday can often get quite expensive, but on an all-inclusive Maldives holiday, you don’t really need to worry. Depending on your resort of choice, you can expect things like kids’ clubs, outdoor play areas, games rooms, and children’s entertainment programs. In terms of food and drink, some resorts even provide dedicated children’s menus and offer snacks throughout the day, such as burgers, chips, sandwiches and, of course, ice-cream.

Things to Do in the Maldives

If you end up choosing an all-inclusive Maldives holiday, you might be happy to stay in your resort for the duration, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Many people go to the Maldives just to chill out and relax by the swimming pool or the sea and are content with staying within the confines of their resort. If this is the case, there is very little need to bring a lot of money with you as you will not have to spend much.

The only thing you might need extra money for is the gift shop, the spa, or some motorised water sports if you want to partake. However, if you want to see more of what the Maldives has to offer, you might want to leave your resort and explore. This is made possible through a variety of excursions that can usually be booked through your hotel or via your tour operator before you go.

For example, walking tours of the capital Malé will allow you to see more of this wonderful island nation, and while there you might want to do a spot of shopping. If so, you will need to have some Maldivian Rufiyaa on you. At the time of this writing, one hundred Maldivian Rufiyaa is roughly equal to £5.00 sterling.

Other excursions such as submarine tours and snorkelling safaris are immensely popular and allow you to witness some of the stunning marine life that is abundant in the Indian Ocean.
